YSU’s Beecher Ward Planetarium will join Foxconn EV Systems in Lordstown to host a public viewing party for the April 8 solar eclipse.

The event will be held at 2300 Hallock Young Road SW in Lordstown with doors opening at 1:00 pm and the event ending at 4:00 pm No entry before 1:00 pm will be allowed.

The entrance to the event will be in the parking lot in front of the Foxconn building. Security will be on hand to assist with parking and viewing.

The telescopes with solar filters will be installed and operated by YSU’s Faculty of Physics and Astronomy and Beecher Ward Planetarium faculty and staff.

Eclipse glasses will be provided, but supplies are limited so visitors are encouraged to bring their own. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and refreshments as they will not be provided during the event.

If you still need to get your eclipse glasses, the YSU Physics and Student Association will have glasses for sale in Ward Beecher Hall 2023 from Monday, April 1 through Thursday, April 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. everyday. .

Glasses are $2 for two pairs or $5 for three, cash only.
