We know what Max Verstappen won’t miss about Honda

You have the first Dutch F1 world champion riding your motorcycle and the sport has never been so popular in our country. So what do you do as Honda Holland? There is nothing. Even local dealers took advantage of Verstappen’s popularity by selling his old AMG. Jumbo also saw the potential of marketing gun Max Verstappen and made him deliver groceries.

It remains surprising how little Honda does with Verstappen in Holland, but maybe that’s for the best, as we see in the video below. Yes, we’re pretty sure that Verstappen won’t miss the obligatory Honda numbers. You can hear in Verstappen’s voice that he is reading the text from a piece of paper without hesitation.

Maybe if the Japanese brand had made more important announcements about driving pleasure or something to do and win, but this sad story about how ‘times and people’ change has zero in common with Verstappen. Or F1. Worse, the advertising agency probably pocketed a lot of money for coming up with this idea. It’s all a shame.

Ford understands the game better

Fortunately, the Honda engine works well, but in terms of marketing and PR, the Ford switch will feel like redemption for Verstappen. The American brand understands the whole game better than Honda. Because in Ford Verstappen is allowed to drive a van with 2,000 hp. They may not sell the bus, but at least the Ford brand will be well packaged.

At Honda, Verstappen has to develop an electric crossover with a nonsensical story about development. Oh, and he does it next to a go-kart track. “Things won’t stay the same for long, but I can’t wait to see where it takes us,” Verstappen concludes in the announcement. We’re sure in his mind he said something like ‘I hope to be back in Monaco on my private jet soon’.
