Dodge makes a car that’s so powerful that the engine just keeps on blasting

The end of the Dodge Challenger and Charger is in sight, but the car is doing its best to stall for a while and postpone the electric future. Today, Dodge was introducing the final version of the two models at the SEMA show, but Dodge ran into some problems in development. The engine continued to explode, reports said Detroit office

The brand came up with seven versions of the Dodge Charger and Challenger to say goodbye to the muscle car. Six of these are already known and the seventh is said to be the best – and possibly the most powerful iteration of the V8 engine ever. But building such a powerful engine turns out to be a bigger challenge than expected.

Dodge’s engine continues to explode

“We ran into problems,” Dodge boss Tim Kuniskis admits. ‘To be fair, the V8 continued to explode when we pushed it to the limit in our test lab. We are not talking about minor accidents. Apparently the engines were exploding.’ It is not known what kind of power the special editions will have.

A solution appears to have been found, but not when it was unveiled on the trade show floor. “I think we’ve figured it out — if we don’t blow up the engine more,” Kuniskis says. We will probably see the final versions of the Dodge Challenger and Charger before the end of this year.

The Dodge Demon already had more than 850 hp. Dodge also offers a separate 1,000 hp Hellephant engine in a crate. There is even a version with more than 1,100 hp. Apparently they can keep those engines running smoothly without risk of explosion. So how amazing power will the last Dodge Challenger and Charger get?
