special series 392 Final Edition before saying goodbye

Jeep has just announced the demise of the Wrangler. So this off-road icon will bow, but it deserves a special series as a farewell gift. Called Final Edition 392, only 3,700 copies will be produced. Good news, the V8 is still there! For one last dance…

Some goodbyes are harder than others. It’s a safe bet that the more adventurous enthusiasts will shed a few tears as soon as the Jeep Wrangler is taken off the list. Unfortunately, we will have to mourn, as the brand has just announced the arrival of a special series, which will be the last. So America’s 4×4 is offered with an exit through the front door, with a V8 and redder than ever!

For beauty there is no doubt, we are dealing with Wrangler. The machine is still very square and uses the same styling cues as the previous models, as usual in the real world. And that’s good, because the whole thing is timeless. The bodywork is decorated with decorative patterns, especially on the hood, which contrasts with the red color. The machine rides on 17-inch rims, painted bronze and shod with all-terrain tires.

One last trip off the beaten track

The passenger compartment is covered with black leather upholstery enhanced with gold stitching. This special edition is equipped with Performance seats, a special gear lever and numbered decorative plates. The package also includes a Mopar toolbox, with 83 tools!

Under the hood, we find a 6.4 V8 with 477 horsepower and 640 Nm of torque. Jeep insists, these 8 cylinders will not be used to break times on the circuit, but to climb trees, almost literally. That said, the Ultimate Edition of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 can still go from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds, according to Jeep. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The brand also declares that almost 75% of the torque is available at low revs, the best action on the road.

Finally, this small series is equipped with a winch, adjustable suspension, as well as a working exhaust system. This Ultimate Edition should go into production in the second quarter of 2024, Jeep has confirmed a price of $129,510. Of the 3,700 copies planned, 3,300 will be reserved for the American market and 300 for the Canadian market. Which means other markets will have to share the remaining 100. We still don’t know the French prices, if indeed this Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition will arrive here…
