“I retired from Formula 1 so I wouldn’t come back, but I also said you never know,” the former German champion had said. “There are things I miss, especially competitions. And things I’m not wrong about, so nothing has changed.”

“Obviously, life is very different if you are not involved and I still love it. You never know where life will take you, so maybe it’ll put me back behind the wheel, maybe it won’t.”

At the same time, Vettel did a private test in Aragon and LMDh Porsche 963 at the end of March, in preparation for possible participation 24 hours of Le Mans already this year.

In this sense, Urs Kuratle, Director of Factory Racing LMDh at Porsche, gave an update on the timing of the possible announcement in an interview with Motorsport-Total, with the final decision to be made in the coming weeks.: “We read in the media that he is in talks with several people. We just know that he hasn’t decided what to do yet.”

“We don’t even know if he will run again, where and when. This will be known in the coming days or weeks. So we don’t even know if he will run with us in the future. We always look at what is best for the team. We have a lot of good drivers.”

Kevin Enstre, who is part of the Porsche crew in the Hypercar class, also spoke about the test made by the German.: “I only saw him a little before I got in the car. He was talking to an engineer, checking telemetry and listening to the radio.

“He was very enthusiastic and wanted to learn everything that was going on. He did what he had to do. Normally we listened carefully to his comments. In general, he agreed with what the regular pilots said, but it was interesting to discover the nuances of his kind of driver.”
