Chery, all new SUVs ready to land in Europe too

Chery has been distinguished from other major Dragon car companies by its green appeal. Among the first Chinese manufacturers to exceed one million units sold, it immediately focused on the mission of creating an environmentally friendly ecosystem using the most advanced technologies. It is no coincidence, therefore, that “New Energy and New Eco” is the slogan that Chery dedicated when participating in the seventeenth edition of the Beijing Motor Show (29 April – 4 May).

If the Omoda 5 was the model that made the Europeans, including the Italians, aware of the version intended for sale in the Old Continent, at the Asian exhibition the Omoda 5 debuted in an electric version, the E5. The new variant has a 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery with the latest powertrain for a claimed range of 430 km with a total consumption of 15.5 kWh per 100 km. Furthermore, with charging at the current rate of automatically, the car can go from 30% to 80% capacity in just 28 minutes.

Another novel from Chery in Beijing is the Omoda 7 which will be the first models of the brand to land in Europe. Characterized by larger dimensions and a more flexible design compared to other SUV ranges, it is aimed at higher-end, premium targets. The front has a very personal look, while the waistline is really elegant. Finally, the design of the rear lights underlines the intention to provide unprecedented levels of beauty for Chery.

And we come from the Jaecoo brand, recognizable by the big gray hexagonal front part and LED matrix lights inserted into the bumper with different lenses for low beam and high beam. Inside, a 14-inch digital display and a jet fighter-style electronically controlled gear selector are evident. Attention to detail and high-quality materials convey a clear sense of quality. Finally, there are jewels represented by 64 color changing lights that create a more interesting setting. Two variants are available, the electric version of the Jaecoo J7 and the electrified J7 Phev-in debuts in Beijing with a very high-powered and autonomous version based on a gasoline engine and a larger battery.

Another first at the show are Jaecoo 8 models, the brand’s flagship, offered in two variants, Jaecoo J8 EV and J8 Phev. In both cases, in addition to sharing with the short J7 version of management, for example, all-wheel drive, larger dimensions are added to accommodate up to 6 passengers on board in three rows instead of the traditional 5. The first of the two new models, the J8 EV is a 100% electric version, while the J8 Phev offers a hybrid hybrid with a power of more than 600 hp for a declared autonomy of about 1,300 km.
